How to make a 3 in 1: Air Freshener, Body & Linen Spray

🌱 DIY Green Cleaning Recipe
By Analisa from Under Your Sink

Commercial fragrance sprays are often loaded with synthetic perfumes, solvents and fillers that add little more than a strong, lingering smell. These artificial blends contribute to indoor air pollution, can irritate skin or lungs, and usually come in single use packaging that ends up as waste.

A homemade spray offers a cleaner, safer and more sustainable alternative and you can create them in under a minute.

DIY sprays are also cost-effective and versatile. One simple recipe can act as an air freshener, a linen spray or a light body mist, reducing the need for multiple products. With complete control over ingredients and scent, you know exactly what you are using around your home and family.

Making your own fragrance sprays is a practical way to cut down on unnecessary chemicals, reduce waste and enjoy a healthier environment every day.

  • HERES THE RECIPE

    INGREDIENTS
    · Vodka (any cheap option will do)
    · Essential Oils

    * Witch Hazel is another non alcohol option (one of my awesome customers discovered this one - shout out to Annabelle!)

    MAKES
    As required

    METHOD
    1. In a spray bottle, combine the vodka and your favourite essential oils. You can use a single oil or a combination of oils. Lavender, peppermint, and citrus oils are all popular choices.
    2. Shake the bottle well to combine the ingredients.

    BEST WAY TO USE IT
Make sure to shake the bottle well before each use, as the oils may separate from the liquid over time. Spray the mixture as required and when needed. Simple!

  • 💡 Tips

    • For the body spray, best sprayed over clothing and not directly on the skin
    • No need to dilute the vodka, it is already 60%+ water based
  • ⚠️ Please Note

I’m not a scientist, just a long-time DIYer with a quirky love for green cleaning. Everything here is based on what works in my home, but every home is a little different. So test, tweak and most importantly - have fun experimenting!
