If you’re looking for a more efficient and eco-friendly way to use your soap, a foaming soap pump is an excellent solution. These pumps are designed to create a rich lather while using less soap, making them a sustainable and cost-effective choice for everyday handwashing.

Choose the right soap for your foaming pump

To get the best results from your foaming pump, you’ll need the right soap formula. Foaming pumps work best with pure liquid soap, just like our Castile Soap

Most store bought liquid soaps are full of foaming and thickening agents so may not be suitable.

You only need a small amount of soap

You only need between 5-10% soap and the rest is simply water. For a 250ml bottle this equates to roughly 10-25ml.

You can adjust the amount of soap to your preference and even add a few drops of your favourite essential oil for natural scent.

If you are in area of hard water, we recommend using distilled water for more effectiveness, otherwise normal tap water or pre-boiled water is fine.

Don't overfill your pump

Be sure not to overfill and leave some space at the top so the pump can work properly. These pumps rely on air, so the lids are secured gently and not super tight like a normal pump closure.

How to use your foaming pump

Simply press down on the pump which will mix the soap with air to create a foamy lather.

The foam is perfect for cleaning your hands, face, or any other surface, as it spreads easily and lathers quickly.

Troubleshooting your foaming soap pump

If your foaming pump isn’t working as it should, try these quick checks:

  • Pump won’t draw soap: Make sure the tube isn’t clogged.
  • Pump sticks or is hard to press: Rinse the nozzle with warm water to clear any dried soap.
  • Inconsistent foam: Remove the pump and the reapply pressing several times; sometimes air needs to clear from the mechanism.

A little adjustment goes a long way. Keep your pump clean and properly filled, and it should deliver thick, luxurious foam every time.
