Postage & Delivery

Hello, Analisa here, the order packer, a real human and not a robot in a giant warehouse. I do my absolute best to get your orders packed and posted fast and asking for a few days grace to pull it all together. Your order is 'fulfilled' once everything is packed, your handwritten note slipped in the box and the shipping is ordered. That is when you will receive all the tracking details via email so you can see when you order will arrive and track the progress.
Choose your delivery option
Available shipping options will display ay checkout. It's priced live for your postcode and the size and weight of your parcel. Mostly it comes down to which one you prefer, unless you're shipping to a PO Box or Parcel locker, in that case you must select Australia Post.
Couriers deliver to street addresses only. You must select the Australia Post option for delivery to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers.
Courier Delivery
Available options will display for Aramex and/or Couriers Please. Strong value on bigger orders, particularly around the Melbourne (same state), major cities and larger towns.
All courier orders are 'Authority to Leave' and no signature is required to confirm delivery.
The delivery driver leaves the package in a secure, hidden, and weather-protected spot (like behind a fence or under a porch).
If the driver decides the location is unsafe, exposed, or easily seen from the street, they will not leave the package. Instead, they take it to a local post office or depot and leave a collection card
Australia Post
Usually the better choice for rural, regional and harder to reach addresses, where the post network simply goes more places than the courier runs do.
How your glassware is packed and posted
Every glass order that leaves here is packed by hand.
There is no plastic in the box. No bubble wrap, no foam, no plastic bags of air. Every layer around your glassware is there for a reason, and every layer can be composted, recycled or used again once it has done its job.
Here is what is in the box, what to do with it, and what happens if something arrives broken.
What's around your glassware
Tissue paper
Every bottle, jar, trigger and pump is wrapped on its own, to keep it clean and dust free.
Hand cut corrugated board
Board is cut to size and wrapped around each individual piece. It works because of the fluting (the wavy layer sandwiched inside), which compresses on impact and spreads the force sideways before it reaches the glass.
A double lined box
Stock arrives here in good quality cartons, so I keep them, cut them up an use them to line the inside of the box to provide double layer protection.
BioFill packing peanuts
Plant starch, not polystyrene. They fill every gap so nothing shifts in transit, and they compost or dissolve in water when you are done with them.
If it arrives broken, I replace it
This method has kept glass safe for years, but parcels travel a long way and get handled by a lot of people. Occasionally one does not make it.
Send me a photo of the damaged piece and the box it came in, and I will get a replacement on its way.
The photo is not a hurdle. It shows me how the parcel was handled, and that feeds straight back into how I pack the next one.
What to do with the packaging
Nothing in the box needs to go in the rubbish bin.
BioFill packing peanuts
- Dissolve them. Drop them into a sink or bucket of hot water a handful at a time. They collapse in seconds. Tip the water over the garden if you like.
- Compost them. Compost bin or worm farm, again a handful at a time rather than the whole box at once. Damp them down as you go.
- Keep them. Store them somewhere dry in a sealed bag or tub and use them for your own parcels. They are water soluble, so a humid shed will soften them.
- Hand them to the kids. Dab one end on a damp sponge and they stick to each other, no glue needed. The whole build goes in the compost afterwards.
Corrugated board
- Those hand cut pieces are clean, flat and sturdy, which makes them genuinely useful around the house.
- Line shelves, especially the cupboard under the sink. It catches drips and lifts straight out when it needs replacing.
- Line the bottom of bins, baskets and storage crates.
- Papier mâché. Corrugated board tears and soaks well, and gives structure that newspaper cannot.
- Flatten it over bare soil in the garden, wet it down and mulch on top to suppress weeds.
- Tear it up for the compost. It is a good carbon layer to balance out food scraps.
- Cut and fold it into drawer dividers.
The box and the tissue
Flatten the box and keep it for your own posting, or put it in the recycling. Tissue paper goes in the compost or the recycling. Pull off any tape and labels first.
Common questions
How do I track my order?
Your confirmation email includes your tracking number as soon as your order is fulfilled. Courier bookings are made through Transdirect, so your tracking email may come from them. Then track it here:
Aramex: aramex.com.au/tools/track
Couriers Please: couriersplease.com.au/tools-track
Australia Post: auspost.com.au/mypost/track
Does it matter which courier I choose?
Not really. Aramex and Couriers Please both do the same job well, and the price difference at checkout is usually small. Local depots vary though, so if one has always been good to your street, go with it.
Can I choose a delivery time, or ask the driver to call ahead?
Sorry, no. Drivers run set routes across huge areas and can't take individual requests. If you won't be home, send it to an address where someone can receive it, or choose Australia Post and use a parcel locker.
My parcel hasn't arrived. What now?
Check your tracking first, as it often shows a card left or a redelivery waiting. Then email me atinfo@underyoursink.com.auand I'll chase it from my end at the same time. Two of us asking gets answers faster than one.
Something arrived damaged.
That's a rotten start and I'm sorry. Everything is packed with tissue, hand cut board and fragile stickers galore, but parcels have a hard life on the road.
Email me right away with photos if you can, including the outer box. Photos help enormously with the carrier claim. Then we'll sort it out between us. If one bag has split and everything else is perfect, I'll replace that bag.

What if my parcel is lost?
Let me know and I'll take it from there. I'll lodge the enquiry with the carrier, keep you posted on what they say, and we'll land on a fair solution together. You won't be left hanging while it gets sorted.
