Vegetable Glycerine (also spelled glycerin) is a clear, syrup-like liquid that has a sweet taste and no odor. It’s obtained from vegetable fats found in oils, such as soybean oil or coconut oil. It’s also water and alcohol soluble, making it easy to work with.
Helps Xanthan Gum: The easiest and most effective option when using Xantham Gum as a thickener, is to mix with Glycerine to make a paste that can be easily dispersed into water.
An emulsifier: When adding essential oils to a product, mix with Glycerine first for better emulsion in your product.
A moisturiser: Use directly on hands/body or mix with other butters

There are several ways to make vegetable glycerin. Most is made as a byproduct of soap manufacturing. In that process, vegetable oil is heated with a strong alkali such as lye (sodium hydroxide). Manufacturers can also make it by heating coconut, soy, or palm oil under pressure with water so that the glycerin splits off into the water.
